Other places to see within the area of Lincolnshire

There is a lot to offer all ages within Haven Golden Sands, but it is always nice to go a little further afield and explore some of the amazing places around. Whether a day of fun and adventure, visits to stately homes, walking and taking in the spectacular surroundings, or just going for a picnic somewhere peaceful, we can share some of the best places around.

Queens Park Paddling Pool

Located along the beach side, perfect to sit back and relax whilst the kids play in the water jets, and paddle in the pool.

The Wragby Maze

Located on the outskirts of Wragby in Lincolnshire, a small family friendly attraction with a hedged maze, three 9 hole putting greens, clock golf, two croquet lawns, and a turf maze for kids to run around on. Perfect place to sit and have a family picnic.

Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary & Wildlife Centre

The Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Park is located on Quebec Road, next to Haven Golden Sands, and has lots of inhabitants just waiting for you to pop by and say hello. It is also a great opportunity for you to show your support to the Park, to enable them to continue further rescues and research too.

Wild Pines Park is a high ropes course with an activity centre, and is located near to market risen in Lincolnshire. Situated in Linwood Warren, a pretty 9 Acre Woodland. It has been voted one of the Top 5 courses in the UK, and is also one of the largest rope courses in the UK too. Click on the Bear below to visit their website.

Wild Pines Park

The Wild Ropes Course has 35 individual challenges, and includes 6 zip wires. There is always help at hand with all of the challenges, and a practice run too one the lower levels first.

Low Ropes Course

Treasure Hunts and the Low Rope Courses are great for younger children. They can also enjoy den building in the woods. The treasure hunt is free.

Zip Wires

There are 6 Zip Wires available. The minimum age is 8 years old, with the minimum age set as 9 years for the Big Zip Challenge Course. Anyone under 140cm must be accompanied by someone taller than 140cms.

Archery

Needs to be booked in advance for a few people, as there is a minimum charge of £40, and then it is £10 per person.

Lincolnshire Aquapark is fantastic fun for all the family, with lots to do, and so close to our caravan. There is a large restaurant and shop on site for snacks or a meal. Tattershall Castle

Tattershall Castle is an imposing 15th Century rare red brick castle, constructed for an influential medieval lord, Ralph Cromwell, Lord Treasurer England, as a statement of wealth & power. The castle is a survivor of conflict, decay and restoration.

Gunby Hall

Gunby Hall was originally built in 1700 for Sir William Massingberd, 2nd Baronet, on the site of a small Manor House that had once belonged to a family called Gunby. The stable block was built in 1735 by Massingberds nephew and heir William Meux-Messingberd.

Gainsborough Old Hall

Gainsborough Old Hall is a little known gem, and is among the best preserved medieval manor houses in England. The hall was built by Sir Thomas Burgh in 1460. The Burghs were rich, powerful and flamboyant. 

Belton House

Belton House is a Grade I Listed country house in the parish of Benton near Grantham in Lincolnshire, built between 1685 and 1688 by Sir John Brownlow, 3rd barnet. It is surrounded by formal gardens and a series of avenues leading to follies within a larger wooded park.

Lincolnshire Wolds is perfect for walkers wanting to get out and about, or to just admire the breathtaking beauty. Where for those more interested in History and Architecture, then head into the Cathedral City of Lincoln, where you will not be disappointed, with quaint tea rooms and shops, there is something for everyone.
